Does anyone have any advice on finding foods and ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner? Good-sized turkeys and cranberry sauce are high on my list of "I don't know where to find it," specifically.
While you're at it, can anyone think of any dishes I've left off my list? At the moment, I have:
Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Cranberry sauce
Gravy
Squash
Sweet potatoes
Pumpkin/Apple pie (haven't decided which yet)
Biscuits
I'm driving myself crazy with anticipation. |

every year this comes up. three quarters of this stuff you can make at home....
Turkey Costco-Daegu has them, spendy though/hope you have a nice, big oven.
Stuffing-Make your own in a rice cooker
Mashed potatoes-are you kidding me? Go to the market, get some spuds, boil, and mash.
Cranberry sauce-gmarket
Gravy-Again, are you kidding me? Make your own, it is not astro physics
Squash-This is the land of squash, go to the market
Sweet potatoes-Go to the market, but theirs are different from USA sweet potatos
Pumpkin/Apple pie (haven't decided which yet)-Costco has pumpkin. If you have an oven, make your own apple. If you have not noticed there are lots of apples here.
Biscuits-Flour is your friend, make your own.
Korea is not America. Your fav foods are NOT going to be easy and available. You just might have to put in some effort to make them yourself. |

Just get connections on the base and have them order a complete set from the Dragon resturaunt on base. Its all precooked and hot on order, comes with all the trimmings. |

Want a live turkey? Go to Moran Station on line 8. Poke around the market and you can get one.
I felt sorry for the creatures and just left. But they are big and for sale. Have no idea how much.
You can actually get about any kind of meat available in Korea. Dogs, turkey, pheasant, turtle, cat, duck, many, many more. |

Me and some friends had a christmas dinner last year, we got 3 cooked turkeys. I would advise against it. They were small and extremely expensive. I think they were 100k a piece. |

Thanks for the help, but you can keep the attitude. Indeed I do plan on making everything at home. Believe me, I'm no stranger to finding rare cooking ingredients in Korea. I asked for help with two specific items... anyway, thanks for the help with one of them. |

Thanks, but I've eaten the army turkey setup, and I can do much better! |

Why do people on here have to get such a negative attitude when asked questions? The person in the beginning wanted help and people jump down their throats and treat them like a moron. Sorry we all haven't been in Korea for multiple years.
Quit the attitude this site is supposed to helpful not a place to make people feel dumb for wanting to know something. |

Turkeys from Costco or any turkey farm. The farmed ones, in my experience, are scrawny. |

Not that I have seen, but I admit I haven't looked much nor have I been here long. My experience of the Korean variety is they have a denser and less sweet texture and flavor respectively. So if you over cook them a bit and add brown sugar they should be pretty close. |

Hey guys I'm looking to cook a ham. Anyone knows if Costco has it? I don't want to make the trip if they don't have it. Does anyone here thinks that place at Moran station has it? |
