Today is 11/11 the bbe-bbe-ro day.

So far the kids gave me 5 big sticks and two boxes.

You can't never have too much of this chocolate goodness.

Last year I was given almost 200.

I kept them in my classroom cupboard for 6 weeks and gave them back to the kids at Christmas time.

(They wanted their Melatonin allowance)

I considered buying Pepero for my students, but only bought a few packets for people who gave them to me. I also bought a normal red packet for my coteacher, with a bow on it.

I've only gotten 3 almond sticks from a little girl I didn't recognize and I gave her a lollipop in return and she ran out giggling. Heh Smile

2 boxes (1 gift wrapped in Hello Kitty paper!) and 1 big stick for me.

Not nearly the same haul as I had on Teachers Day! Cool

I gave a bunch and got a bunch.

This stuff is so addicting. The almond ones will kill me. I've probably ate 5 boxes today.

And Lotte just keeps rakin' in the dough.

I should make Bloopity Day.

So far, I've received 1 box of the standard stuff and one stick from a 3rd grader who was halfway through the box. I kind of appreciated the one stick more than the box. What a nice kid.

EDIT: RIGHT after I clicked 'Submit', one of my 6th graders runs in with 2 big sticks.

3 big sticks, 1 of the chocolate filled boxes (my preference), 1 clear plastic tube, and 1 standard red, but I have 4 more classes! Go Bpe-be-ro!

*note I didn't buy ANY for my students, I am playing dumb and so far it's going very well.

One of the teachers at my school told the children to stop eating beppero, as "its from China and is bad for you"..

Actually today is traditionally "farmers day" in Korea, where people eat big sticks of dokk. At least they used to until the beppero company took it over.

One of my students sternly told me it was "Farmers Day" and not Bbebpearo Day (hilarious how we attempt to spell Korean words in English/Arabic letters). Farmers Day is so much better, but bbebpearo tastes so much better.
