The Who - Quadrophenia (original).......I got into this at about 13 years old and basically didn't ever listen to pop music again. Showed me that music could rock.

Yes!! Didn't know anybody else thought about this one any more. My all-time favorite. I took the whole thing as the story of someone finding their identity among many different experiences, many different possibilities, and many different and conflicting personality characteristics. Keith Moon's drum work (especially on Bell Boy) might be the best ever, and the last song, in the context of the story, is truly touching and majestic. |
Quadrophenia affected my 13 year old mind deeply. Those songs are tattooed on my consciousness. 'Love reign o'er me' might be still my favorite song.
I happen to think it's The Who's masterpiece.
The movie is excellent too. Check out my avatar of the last two years! Jimmy and Steph on the Lambretta. |
