There is a stray dog in my neighborhood. I think he has been abandoned as he is still very friendly. I cannot have dogs in my apartment, or I would take him in. I have been feeding him for a while now.

Who do I call or is there any organizations around that I can call that could take him in? I don't want to have him picked up by a place that will probably kill him though.

It's getting colder so.. hopefully I can find a good place for him before that.

Thanks for your help and have a great day.

Could you board him with a private vet for a short time until someone can help? You'll have to notify the appropriate authorities in case there's someone looking for him ... I believe that's the gu office, but there may be other agencies as well. Also, you should ask the vet to scan for a microchip.

The ARK site is a good resource for situations like this. I suggest asking your questions there.

I found this link to some no-kill animal shelters in Korea. Please try contacting the one closest to you.
I really hope that they will find a loving home for that poor dog. If I didn't have one already, I would come and get him.

Thanks for the list! I think any shelter should be a last resort, though ... if the OP can possibly manage it, Itaewonguy's solution would be a lot better at least until he can get the dog checked out and neutered, and make a report to give the family a chance to claim him if he's lost.

I knew a few vets who would sometimes take in strays to try and give to their clients. If all else fails try to see if a vet near you is the caring type...if not they may simple be in a better position to send the dog to a shelter for you too.

I also say call your nearest boshin tang(dog meat soup) restaurant.
They sure taste good in that soup. You might even get a discount next time you go to the restaurant Wink

You are doing the right thing, man. There is a place that will take the dog...

Dr. Pet Animal Medical center, located in Gangnam. Their phone number is 02-3443-8275

Let us know how it goes.

Boshin tang jokes are really not funny! Mad

I agree with another poster check out the ARK website (Animal Rescue Korea) and/or consider taking him to Dr. Pet or another vet if you can manage.

Poor dog. Sad

That would be my first choice too (assuming I couldn't foster), but I wouldn't give out the number like this without permission. Do you have permission?
