Squatters, not the fun, tenement kind, but the toilets, are Satan's Spawn.

Sweet Bread is an abomination that bothers me more than just about anything else here.

Surgical Masks don't do diddly.

Blood Money is a great system that I need to find a way to exploit. As long as I bleed and not break I'm cool.

Our system does indeed have elements of Feudalism.

Yes it has and it does. But it is not pperfect.

That's nature. Of course nothing in this world, no thing, idea is comletely pure, perfect and unadulterated. That's why communism doesn't work. Pure idea is for the realm of the mind alone and of art, not for the realm of human social and political interacton... things which sully and corrupt, dilute and modify (for better and for worse) those projected pure ideals...

Almost the definition of crony capitalism....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crony_capitalism

In its worst form, crony capitalism can devolve into simple corruption, where any pretense of a free market is dispensed with. Bribes to government officials are considered de rigueur and tax evasion is common; this is seen in many parts of Africa, for instance. This is sometimes called plutocracy (rule by wealth) or kleptocracy (rule by theft).

Does anybody else in here miss the Old Soviet Union? I miss the way they kept everything in somekind of order. They saw Red China for what it was and actually respected the west more. They kept the asian satellite countries in line (no muslim extremism then, in fact why did the US send any weapons at all to the mujaheedin, they were worse than the soviets).

We need more humor, and there should be no limit on it. We need to laugh at ourselves more. Laughter and a strong attitude will take us farther than worrying about the right foods and everything else. We need to make fun of the suicidal and the mentally ill, the crippled and the homeless, the sad and weak, and most of all, ourselves, whatever we are.

No error, tell me what is better. Governments have intervened to ruin capitalism. There is no problem with the logic, it's the improper implementation. I never said it was perfect, I said it was the best system.

Marijuana Smoking Doesn't Kill
Illegal Herb Not Harmless, but Data Show No Link to Death
WebMD Health News
Marijuana smoking isn't harmless, but at least it won't kill you.

It's been feared that marijuana smoke, like tobacco smoke, causes cancer and heart disease. The evidence argues otherwise, writes Stephen Sidney, MD, associate director for research for Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, Calif., in the Sept 20 issue of The British Medical Journal.

http://www.webmd.com/smoking-cessation/news/20030918/marijuana-smoking-doesnt-kill

"Although the use of [marijuana] is not harmless, the current knowledge base does not support the assertion that it has any notable adverse public health impact in relation to mortality," Sidney concludes.

Yes, and last I looked US statistics mostly agree with this. There are not many deaths attributed to marijuana. Those that are fall into two categories. 1) The marijuana has something else added to it that is toxic. In other words some A-hole intentionally poisoned people. 2) Using marijuana and then operating heavy machinery.

People please, don't toke and drive trains.

I remember my father talking to friends in the 80s and saying that we would miss the Soviet Union someday if it fell. At least with the USSR we know who our enemies are and where the bombs are. What he said seems prescient now!

What I've learned about college women, and I don't dare talk about it, is that the last thing they want is a boring man. Women would prefer an interesting man who isn't a jerk, but since the interesting men usually have enough charisma to be taken, the jerks are left. At least the jerk isn't boring.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a little ridiculous that people are making an issue about Steve Tyler leaving Aerosmith? Isn't it time for these guys to call it a day anyway after, what, 400 years?

The problem with Star Trek is that it's a modern movie series built upon a fun but cheesy 60s show with not much better writing than the Beverly Hillbillies. Why is it that some Vulcans don't show emotions but they're arrogant and condescending to people? Why are some emotions okay and others not?

In 50 years in North America, marijuana will be legal and tobacco won't be. The sky will not fall in and people will wonder what the fuss was.
