The wife wants to get a load of plastic surgery. She looked around at places in Korea and it will cost her a pretty penny here. She was considering Thailand, especially looking at what has been done with on the ladyboys.

Has anyone gotten surgery in Thailand? Is the price much lower in Thailand for similar quality as in Korea?

I've heard it said, on this forum, that ladyboys are more attractive than real ladies. I think she should go with Thailand.

Yeah. I'm straight. But pretty liberal and strong enough in my own sexuality to admit, some of those ladybodys look like fashion models compared to what passes as "pretty" with thai girls.

Then again, some look awful. Walking around Bangkok, you're more likely to see 5 hideous ladyboys rather than one drop dead gorgeous one. But they do exist.

As for the OP, Thailand may be cheaper, but Seoul is world head quarter's for plastic surgery. I think the Quality of work done here out paces even L.A. (if you're Asian.) Which brings me to my next point, if the wife is Asian, I'd stick with Seoul. The doc's here operate on the Asian face 98% of the time. It has different characteristics and reacts differently than white faces. Thailand however, sees more foreigners getting work done there, so shaping a western face or figure isn't as alien to them.

I'm a little vein and kind of want my nose done in a few years, but I'd never never never get it done here. The western nose is incredibly different than East Asian. I think there was a thread going lately of one of the girls from the "Chatting with Beauties" show. She's half Asian and they butchered her face. Her nose looks horrible. If you see her before shots, she had a rather Caucasian nose and they tried to make it look like a Korean nose that's been shaped. Result. Train wreck face.

So take that into consideration. If it's just body stuff (boobs, lipo, hair removal) that's all pretty universal. Go where they do it more often and thus tons cheaper, Thailand. If it's a facial or more cosmetic job, stick with the group that has more experience with that specific facial type. Cosmetic surgery is not something you want to bargain over and try to find the cheapest price. You will get what you pay for. People that get work done are already self-conscious about how they look, imagine how they'd feel once what they wanted to improve now looks even worse. And the first time around is the best shot. Reworking any area is going to dramatically downgrade the results.

Having had work done in both countries, I would suggest Korea for things such as; forehead, eyes, nose, chin/jaw and anything skin related. Thailand is great for 'effemanizing' surgeries such as; breasts, butts, etc.

I agree with the above poster, that you get what you pay for, but where there is demand, there is competition, and where there is competition, there is a drastic reduction in price.

I hate plastic surgery. And it's not like my nose couldn't be tweeked. But every time I see someone who has had too much work done or bad work done, I can't even look. Then I have to look because it's soo bad!

I'm sure that it's beyond this point, but couldn't you convince your wife she's fine as is?

I've had some spots and scars removed at this clinic in Bangkok:

http://www.laser-surgery-bangkok.com/

And a friend from America went there for liposuction and said they did fine on that too. You can check and compare prices for a general feeling of what it will cost.

thailand if you want to make yourself into a girl! they are pros when it comes to that part of it.. hahahahaha

but for price.. then yes thailand might be cheaper not sure on the exchange rate at the moment.. the thais do have a lot of experience thats sure.. they have been turning men into women for much longer than plastic surgery has been popular here..

End of the day, it all comes down to the doctor..
plastic surgens have to be artists! you might find a well qualified doctor but his idea of beauty is different to yours..

shop around, get someone who has an eye for beauty.. not just an eye on your WON..

This is something you have to be very careful about. Plastic surgery can go wrong pretty fast. a few years ago a woman died because she had a severe reaction to the anesthesia. She just wanted her eyelids done. What a thing to die for. Many plastic surgeons here are not properly trained for plastic surgery. Make sure you check the doctor's credentials.
One thing to consider to is that if you get the work done in thailand and something goes wrong later on then it isn't easy to have the original doctor fix it. There was a news program some time back and it had a number of korean woman who had surgery done in thailand. They all had horrible problems after that.
All in all your girlfriend is best off having nothing done to her.

Or death by Mochi

http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20070103a6.html

Mochi is a Japanese rice cake, slightly different than Dok, but people die from it every year, usually about 7 or so.

God I hope I don't die for either of these reasons.

Seems like more than half the time people come out looking worse after plastic surgery. If it ain't broke, don't fix it the saying goes.
