This may be a silly question but since i've never been out of the country i'm not sure how internet works overseas. I've been a long time user of netflix, I know that you can't get movies delivered in Korea but is the instant queue still available to watch? Actually will hulu and other things like torrenting be the same as it is here in america or does being on a different countries network change things? |

I don't have personal experience, but my understanding is:
1. Netflix and Hulu won't work.
2. Torrenting is great. |

I see my PS3 now has Netflix, but when I try to buy a movie with it in Korea, it says my account is not eligible or something. |

You can't use Netflix overseas, via mail or online. However, if you use a VPN you can get both Hulu and Netflix, so Google that and learn what it entails. |

With a bit of searching you can find that changing/masking your IP address to be an American, Canadian, or British one will make your life so much better. Sites such as Hulu will suddenly work. Not sure about Netflix, but I have gotten Hulu to work. |

VPN
www.strongvpn.com
Get netflix
Get hulu
Play WOW Final Fantasy and other games
Watch real time shows at www.fox.comwww.abc.com and so on.
But honestly you can download 1.5 trigabytes a second. Iron man, batman gi joe, transformers in 10-20 minutes: whatch and then delete so you may not need the vpn.
P.S. if you do use torrents to download and a VPN service, don't download while using the vpn for two reasons.
1. much slower speeds, you connect to a VPN but only go as fast as a USA server what is slow vs korea.
2nd. It is still against USA law to download torents or at least VPN provider laws. So if you download do it on korea vpn. Its not against the law and faster. |

Torrenting is okay but the qualities and such of movies tend to vary greatly, especially when it comes to hard to find independent and foreign films which is most of what I watch.
Is there any sort of service similar to netflix in Korea that offers English language or English subbed movies? I doubt there is but I thought I'd ask.
Don't worry, I don't plan on spending a lot of my time in Korea watching movies but as a former film studies major I need my fix of good movies every once in awhile. Torrenting movies is acceptable I suppose but it isn't always easy to find a way to watch them on a bigger screen like my tv. Also, it is illegal, and while chances are highly unlikely there is always the possibility it will get you in trouble. |

Are you from the states? If so, just get a streaming plan with netflix and use a vpn service. I've been doing that since I got here. Not a lot, but it's nice to watch stuff every once in awhile. |

There are hundreds of websites on the internet you can stream movies/TV shows from, for free, no downloads, no waits, anywhere in the world. |
