I teach for SMOE right now and I was wondering if anyone has heard of SMOE doing 6 month contracts. I would like to resign in aug 2010 and stay till Feb 2011... has anyone done this before? I would stay at the same school or switch... doesn't matter. |

Just renew for another year and resign after six months. |

You really shouldn't feel bad, if that is what you end up doing. It is not uncommon, and you would have already completed 18 months, likely at the same school. They would not hold it against you and you should still get your reference. They would just get someone from the next intake to replace you. I've known a few people who have resigned after their first contract, but before the next was completed. Some even returned to Korea at a later time with no problems, and went back to their old schools for a visit. |
