My home page has recieved a lot of visitors lately and I can't remember who is who, so I've decided to have a get-together with the ones that want to come so I can see them and them me in person. I'm trying to think of a good place to have it. As for location either Kangnam or Shinchon or some other central area that lots of people know well, but as for the exact location and what to do, I really don't know.

I expect some 20-30 people would show up. The biggest problem is that all those people know me but they don't know each other, and I don't want to try to keep 20 or so Korean people who don't know each other from feeling awkward all night. I would rather there be something else for them to do aside from chatting with me, so instead of a meet Mithridates kind of thing, I would prefer something that they would all like to do anyway, and Mithridates just happens to be there.

Coffee shops are boring, especially for 20-30 people, so that's no good.
A bar would have to have something to do besides drinking, and since only six or so people can sit at a table that's probably not a good idea. Might be crowded too.
However, with so many people that don't know each other, a place with alcohol in it might be better than not.
I was also thinking of telling them to bring their own friends as well, but then they might shuffle off into their own groups and I'd have to flit back and forth like a butterfly.

So far the best idea I have is a live bar like Soundholic where a show might be going on...I could just tell them that instead of an event I'll be at said concert, and anybody who feels like showing up can come and say hi.

But with the combined pool of knowledge from all the ESL teachers here, I'm sure somebody has a better idea, hence the post...^^

Nothing! I can't think of the perfect mix of

-something to do besides talk
-some alcohol
-Saturday night in Kangnam
-Lots of chairs

I thought somebody would know. My idea of a fun time is taking a big telescope off to a field somewhere and staying up all night. I wish I could do that.

Kangnam or somewhere else central. Shinchon, Myeong-Dong, etc. Since there would be a lot of people somewhere within Seoul would likely be best.

There's a place in Shinchon where, for a small fee (2 or 3 thousand) they'll slap you into a costume and do you up with actor's makeup. Dancing, chairs and drinks on the premises. . .

Several live music bars in Hongdae, although they're often so loud you can't hear yourself think. . .
