Can you change to a new school after 2 months on an e2 visa? someone said you need to work 9 months for immigration to accept a letter of release. Does the e2 visa get renewed without the criminal check, etc? |

Immigration requires you to complete 9 months of your contract before you can transfer your visa. However, some immigration officers have let people slid on this. It depends on who you get and how good a mood their in. However, after only two months, I wouldn't really count on it happening. If you do get a letter of release and a new job lined up, you don't need a new criminal records check. I think all you would need are the LOR, new contract, business number and application. |

Do you know if this information is on any website? Or who to go to in person about finding out this info? (Busan area)
I too, may have to change jobs after almost 3 months.
I don't know where to start to look for information about it.
My employer has been violating my contract so don't know if I am able to go to the Labor relations until 3 months in. |

There is no '9-month' rule re: transfer of visa sponsorship... it's just something an officer created in the hope of extracting a fat, white envelope from the waygooken (or the potential employer).
You do not need to have worked for three months in order to petition the Labor Relations Commission for a hearing re: the Labor Standards Act. |

Thanks cruisemonkey,
Where do I find this information in writing? Is there a website that can explain all this in writing for me? |

I've worked for under three months and had my visa transferred. There is no rule. |

The second sentence is completely false. There is a rule, but there are exceptions to the 9 month requirement (switching to a PS or an immi agent who makes their own rules).
If you cant bring yourself to believe this, call immi at 1345 and ask them. |

Do you know the free phone number for the Labor board as well by any chance?
I know you dial 7 to get to an English speaker but I can't find the link that I saw it on. |

I'm getting used to the daily discipline by my 2 bosses, constant cctv spying, bursting into my classroom to "watch" me, blame for all problems that exist within and outside of the walls of the school, lack of materials, lack of morale among all employees, hatred between students and management, the photocopier that messes up each paper and riding on the elevator with alcoholics and prostitutes as I go to and from work. I think I'll stay for a while and enjoy the ride. |
