I am making plans to arrive in Korea next month. I have a chronic condition called coccydinia, which is basically inflammation of the tissue connecting the tailbone to the spine. Yes, it would be funny if it weren't so incredibly painful. Most of the time it doesn't bother me that much but a 14 hour plane ride sounds like torture. I am planning on getting a steroid shot a day or two before I leave because it will help with the inflammation and hopefully make the plane ride less painful. Does anyone know if this will show up on the drug screen? My neighbor is a nurse and she said the drug screens they use don't automatically screen for them but I don't know what kind of test will be used in Korea. Any ideas? |

As a certified drug counselor and someone with experaince, I would say yes.
It will show up as a barb, on the test. But it only stayes in your body for 24-48 hours. If you have a dr note or drug name they should include that in the report so there is no problem. |

You should be fine then...
Because they don't test you until about a week later. Which is plenty of time for the steroids to wear off.
Although, I've heard of some strange weirdo hagwons testing immediately after landing... but that's an unusual circumstance |

The only drug I wouldn't use upon coming over is Tch or more commonly known as Mj. This one stays in the system for 30 days and can land you in jail with no drug rehab in Korea. |

I was under the impression that a specific test had to be conducted to find a specific drug. I.E., if they're testing for one thing something else wouldn't show up unless they were testing for that as well.
So, unless they're testing for steroid metabolites, then you don't have to worry.
Note, I'm no scientist and that could be way off, so would like to hear more from someone in the know if the above is incorrect. |
