| Actually, I enjoy being here quite a bit, but I really wish my computer would stop defaulting to the Korean versions of webpages. Any way to set it so it thinks I'm in North America? I usually use Google Chrome or Firefox. |

I use google.co.nz. You have to switch the language but that's easy. |

As far as google goes - make this your homepage:
http://google.com/ncr
That will always give you the English version of google when you click the home button.
You can also tweak the search box by adding this:

Its a good question (even if the tittle kind of sux) so I will give a good answer
Its dependent how they have made the website. In the example of google where they redirect you to another domain this is done by looking at the IP. To modify this you have to user a proxy. There are a few free ones you can use but it will make it a little bit slower (or in some few cases faster) to download the webpages.
If its done by programming the webpage it can be done in two ways. Either the one who made the wepage can look at the browser language or the user language. The user language can be set in windows while the broser language can be tweaked with an extension like this one for Firefox.
Quick Locale Switcher:

Good luck!

just change your youtube location.
What is worse is a few Korean video games websites require you set your unicode fallback to Korea and your region to Korea. Even though the language is set to English. Programs like Itunes/Quicktime, Google Earth or Nvidia drivers, assume because your region is Korea they'll ignore the language choice and install in Korean. When I installed my wireless apps and drivers I had to temporarily set my machine to Canada just so I could install them in English. There is no way to force a language change with those installs. |
