My sister has a two year degree (two actually) and is working on a 4 year degree. She wants to take a year off school and come here to teach for that time. I had heard that was possible which is why I suggested it to her, but since I have a 4 year degree myself, I don't know much about the 2 year degree deal which is pretty recent as I understand it.

It is my understanding that you have to have at least two years of college and be pursuing a 4 year degree to qualify, and she meets this criteria. How would she go about getting a job?

Anything we should know about this new program?

Thanks in advance.

short answer is she can't and she should wait till she gets her 4 year.

Long answer, Epik is (was) running a programme called TALK which allowed people with 2 year degrees to teach right out in the middle of no where for 1.5 million a month

If she has been issued a degree parchment and if her degree has the word bachelor on it then she is perfectly legal to get an E2 visa for a normal EPIK job
Maybe she was really smart and took extra classes and summer and winter vacation papers? Anyway.... there is no rule that says how long a bachelor degree must take to do for the Korean immigration to accept it - just a rule saying it must be a real bachelor degree. In some countries it is possible to do the full degree in 2-3 years. USA is the only country that mandates a study length of 4 years for a bachelor degree as the 'norm'
