|
|
Hi Guys
This is my first winter in Korea and I'm thinking of going to a Ski Resort over the Xmas/New Year Period.
What are the best resorts to go to for beginners who also want to enjoy a good party in the evening as well as days on the slope? Any ideas on how much a 3 day, 2 night trip is going to cost, and if there's any cheaper ways to get a good deal. Also is it the sort of thing I should be thinking about booking in advance or can I wait until my December payday
Advice from anyone whos done skiing in Korea before most appreciated |

I snowboard and have my own gear here so I can't give you specifics about rental prices, but I know they are cheap compared to North America and you can rent everything you need to ski/ride there. Booking shouldn't be an issue at Yeongpyeong, its big and there are lots of options there. Also lift tickets are cheaper if you have a certain credit card. Ask a Korean to help you find out which one you need or to book them for you.
Depends on where you wanna go and if you're going alone or with a group.
The best places in Korea are: Yongpyeong, High One, Muju and Phoenix Park. None of them are really great. They all can be expensive and luxurious if you want, however if you're going with a group they can also be very affordable and still really nice staying in a pension. |

Most people I have talked to say High 1 is the best place to go. |

High 1 is nice, although be sure to rent your gear from the shops in the town, just take the stairs down from the train station and choose one. As you might assume it's ridiculously cheaper than renting at the resort, and most of the shops will give you a lift to the entrance and pick you up afterwards. There's not much to do in the area though. |
