Yes , there is a chance you will be flagged. Some say the flag is in the nand memory. I find that hard to believe. However the hardisk will keep a record. You could to be safer, take out the harddisk and just use a memory card. It's not 100% safe anyway.
Maybe wait to see the reaction of the modding scene to the ban wave. If you can't wait, and don't play Live then mod/patch away. |

| I probably will never mod another one of my boxes. I used to mod my boxes, but with the recent updates microsoft is catching them real easy now. Ive had a modded box for a good 2 years and it got banned over the weekend same with my friend. It doesn't matter if you're playing games before release date or not. As I have never played a game pre-release except for mw2 which I bought legit on a non-modded box. |

Is it safe to install the mandatory system update that is on the Left 4 Dead 2 disc? I don't ever play on Xbox Live, but I am concerned that if I install the new update it might screw with the mod.
I'm not quite sure which firmware I'm running. L4D 2 requires a boot disc, but Modern Warfare 2 doesn't... |

I am offering this service if you want your xbox 360 modded. i also have a library of over 250-300 xbox 360 games.
if you worry about playing live then just pm me for more details. a lot of people do get banned for playing live because they try to play the copied game before it hits retail. obviously ms doesnt want this.
also, if there are ppl out there who are interested in game copies only then pm me. there are some ppl on this board that i help out from time to time and they seem pretty happy with this service. |

M$ are now able to detect the Ixtreme firmware, it does not matter at all which ixtreme you are running, you can be playing your originals or just use XBL for whatever other reason but the new XBL update released by M$ contains information to detect ixtreme modded consoles. |

| Yea, my modded Xbox is strictly offline. But I was paranoid that installing the new update from the L4D 2 disc might brick my console. |

it was a bad burn. re-burn or upgrade your media if you're not already using verbatim. |
