What your co-teacher is thinking about you but doesn't say to your face. She just says it to the students or her fellow Korean co-workers. some way-gugin already got the ball rolling. I'll add what my co-teacher is probably thinking.
Probably something along the lines of...
I don't need him here. All he does is make English fun with his games and interesting worksheets. The students need more rote learning and to bring back the translation method. I'm more than capable of printing stuff off indischool and using my wonderful, garbled English pronounciation to lead MY class. Words such as zoo and three really pronounced "joo" and "she". My shiny certificate from Sookmyung proves that! |

Considering all the many extras I have done above my job description, IF ever I get a sense of this attitude from any of these teachers I will make sure someone gets it big time!
So, far I have been asked to resign twice at the same school.
3rd year up and coming for me. |

In fact one of teachers at my school did complain about my pay to my co-t, while I was standing right in front of her. She knew that I understood Korean. I translate her e-mails into English for her! |

Me and my co teacher went to a class observation today which was followed by a lecture on co teaching. The part delivered in Korean was translated to me by my co teacher. Basically when they got down to a Q and A, there were a lot of korean teachers saying what was the point of co teaching and they could do the class better by themselves. |

Sounds quite defensive. Anyhoo, as they've no idea perhaps what's right or wrong, they probably think, yeah, they could.
If my KT said that-had the mettle to say that in English-I'd take them up on it. Let them teach for a week, sit back and videotape it, then rip them to shreds with your own debrief.
If they're actually very good and make no major mistakes, fine. Take a back seat. |

They hired you back both times? Pretty silly of them to ask you to quit and then hire you back. |

Most likely and not it would be an English class taught 90% in Korean then. Cheating and translating everything doesn't make a class better. |

Oh! ___ works the class too hard. He doesn't understand our culture. We must follow the book. The children don't understand the topic sentence (I went to the park ) He is also lazy. I do so much for him, and he tells me I need to relax. Why should I tell him what I do? He should show me all of his resources. I'm the real teacher! He isn't a real teacher like I am. Maybe he has some talent, but I'm the real teacher!!! |

"He doesn't eat Kim chi so he must hate Korea."
Wait, that's actually something they DO say. |

Yeah one of my ps chool friends said his psycho handler complains that all thhe other teachers think he's overpaid and that they work so much harder (read - spend more time 'chatting' and 'online shopping.')
I clued him up about their bonusses, longer vacations and way less teaching hours per week. He boought this up and I think that made her stfu. |

He should make the classes easier with nothing but meaningless games. After all, school is not about learning, it's about high test scores. These kids are obviously too stupid to understand English because I can barely speak it and I'm an English teacher, although, due to my ethnicity, I speak English better than an American does. Barack Obama has nothing on my wordsmithing. One day, I'll crush this Waegukins head with a rock and lick up the brains, taking on the power to shift into his form. I will then collect both his and my paychecks and we'll see who speaks better English when I'm richer because money is the only valuation of a persons worth. Oh, here come some other teachers. Cluck cluck cluck bock bracock. |
