Can I use NongHyup (NH) Bank internet banking to do money transfers?
Specifically to money accounts abroad (the US)? |

Look into PayPal. If you can access both your account here in Korea and your account in the US then you should be able to transfer money very easily and cheap (like 1.50 a transfer(not sure about limits)).
I have not tried it yet, but I myself will be researching it more.

I tried Paypal... We can not register with our foreign ID number. You have to get a citizen to "lend" you their number. I was not comfortable with that.
I was at NongHyup. Change to KEB !!!!! Find an international center (I can tell you where the one in Busan is).
They have great English. Interest bearing accounts for expats, and a thing called a foreign remittance account that works great. I can send money home from an ATM or online.
KEB's customer service, internet page EVERYTHING is better. |

You can use NH internet banking if your bank is on their list of banks.
When using their website to transfer money there is a drop down box with a list of banks - like Citibank and Deutsche and others. If your bank is on that list it is easy.
If your bank is not on the list you must visit a branch. The process isn't long or difficult. After the first transfer you can request your bank be put on the list. |
