Brit actor Edward Woodward died on Monday aged 79. Many may remember him in the leading role in the hit 80s series the Equalizer. Many older fans will remember him in the classic 60s/70s series Callan, possibly the greatest TV spy series of all time.
Woodward also starred in the Wicker Man and the famous Australian movie Breaker Morant as well as many stage roles.
I remember him most fondly for Callan, the embittered, disillusioned British spy. I started catching up with this series again via torrent downloads lately (hence the post). The acting is SUPERLATIVE, not to mention the outstanding scripts. Catch up with it if you want to watch a REAL spy story.

I used to enjoy "The equalizer". A very british actor playing the role of a lone/independent law enforcer at a time when British police were more inclined to punish the victim of street crime rather than the criminal.
No disrespect intended..but I always remember the joke..Q)what do you get if you take the D's out of the equalizer? A) "Ewar Woowar".  |
