You should check out Dos Tacos. You can't get good Mexican food anywhere in Korea, but Dos Tacos is okay. I'm from California, so I'm pretty hard to please.

I know the owner and he lived in LA for quite some time. Only thing keeping him from stepping it up all the way is that Korean customs won't let him import a lot of key ingredients, so he's spent a lot of time trying to find decent substitutions.

I enjoy the place. Good food, just maybe not good Mex food.

There's a decent Nepali place in the basement of a building near the park in Hongdae. The food isn't bad by Korean standards and the atmosphere is really good. Sorry cant remember the name.

What can't he import? I think avacados must set him back. Must be cheap as coming from the Philippines, but prices get jacked up something chronic. Limes likewise.

Manakumana in Sinchon is possibly the best Indian I've had anywhere. Service is a bit slow though. Choi's Tacos on the way to Yonsei from Sinchon station is good, though Dos is better.

Has anyone found a decent Turkish place in this part of town?

Yes, the very same. Those are his 2 locations.

He said a some of the spices and chiles? I don't remember, I wasn't really listening because I was too focused on the food in front of me. I'll probably ask him the next time I see him.

That would be Yeti, I think. There's also reasonable Indian food at Shanti (towards where the new railway line is being built) and Amma (in Sinchon).

One of my favourite places to eat in Hongdae is called Shim's Tapas (심스타파스), on a side street near the new railway line. The food isn't cheap, but it's excellent - you can get a map here.

Agio's is quite nice. Big wood-oven pizzas and good quality German beer. All a bit pricey though.

Must admit to not being too impressed with Dos Tacos, however that might be because I'm a veggie and the potato burrito there is more like a salad wrap. Chao's in Sinchon is the better veggie option I reckon.

I get the black bean and broccoli burrito (hold the cauliflower) just about every time I go there, and it is heaven on the taste buds. I hate potato burritos, which is why I don't like Tomatillo- that's the only veg option there.
