Wow, some of you guys download a lot. I used to download and keep everything but now a) I don't have time to watch it, and b) too lazy to keep buying drives.

One thing you should always so is keep backups. If you buy a brand new 2TB drive, buy a second one to back it up to. What's the point of spending so much effort and time downloading stuff if it can be wiped out so easily if one drive fails. The advantage of this is that when your 2TB drive (+ backup) gets filled, just buy a 4TB drive. (Unless you are crazy and fill up the latest drives faster than they can develop higher capacity ones Smile )

Right now I only download the latest episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and delete when I'm finished. I've got about 500GB of old tv shows and movies that I watch periodically, though I've deleted about 200GB of stuff I didn't want anymore.

At the beginning of the year I was downloading maybe 30-50 gigs on a day off from Megaupload at 2-5 MB/s, but either they're being limited by my ISP or they don't give the bandwidth like they used to. Now I only get like 200kb/s from them so I'm back to depending on the variability of torrents. Probably only download 10-20 gigs a week max now. (Heh, If my old New Zealand self could hear me say that...)

Wow! That's a lot... methinks you've been limited.
