Well, the days are beginning to darken early and we are drawing into the cold, hibernial months.....

So in that vein, I'd like to ask others to recommend a video that would inspire teachers (yourself).

I've just blogged about my Top 5 and some honorable mentions.

Got one?

I really didn't like "Last Lecture." I know it got accolades all over the world but for me it didn't work.

Here are a few vids that I found inspiring:

I like the idea of using short phrases and words to convey great ideas. I'm using this now with my 9th graders trying to get them to understand the power of words.

Keeps me grounded.

Keeps me looking at the future. One of my students may be the one to venture out and set foot on another planet.

I am thankful for every day in the classroom.

I liked that Carl Sagan video voice over....the Blue dot.

that Taylor Mali sketch bothers me to no end. I don't consider that inspirational or at least it doesn't do anything to me. I really think that any teacher who can get that angry over anything other than a personal loss - isn't a teacher, just a blowhard. (btw, I do know it is only a sketch but many people take it literally or I'd say , most....).

R. - always putting my spoon in the soup when I can. cheers,

Loved that Taylor Mali speech. That's not anger, that's passion. Carl Sagan is one of my heroes, that was awe-inspiring. Read Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors to truly be inspired. Also the I Love Living Life one, was truly moving. Brought a few tears to my eyes as well. Check out this blog for great stories to inspire: http://rosstraining.com/blog/category/the-blog/inspirational/

This video is very well-done. Though it has nothing to do with ESL or teaching abroad, I feel that it is very inspiring.

How about a video of a teacher sitting on a nice beach (not in Korea of course) on a sunny day, having a beer, relaxing after getting back from golfing...

and saying to himself,

"I'm on vacation.... one of my many weeks of vacation.... being a teacher is awesome."

Talk about inspiration.
