Hey everyone!

Any help I can get on this would be really appreciated.

I'm a Canadian who is currently trying to do re-sign with my GEPIK funded public school position. Is there a website that walks you through this process? It seems pretty complicated and my school doesn't seem to know what to do.

I've just gotten the required physical check. What's the next step? Do I need a criminal check again? If so, where from? Are there forms I have to fill out? How do I get my new visa? Do I need a new alien card?

If YOU have answers to any of these questions, please let me know. I realize that my school should be handling this.

Cool man. Are you also with GEPIK?

My teachers seem to think I need criminal reference check again because I'm Canadian... but they aren't sure.

I'm with EPIK. The procedure should be pretty much the same for all PS.

If you're renewing with the same school, immigration doesn't require any physical or CRC.

Ha ha. Tell THAT to my school. Thanks a lot man. I'll let them know and see what they say.

Thanks again

Yes, but they may require HIV and TBPE test results.

Well, luckily for me I went and got those last week. The only part of the medical I don't like is when the guy puts his finger "where the sun don't shine" and then tells you he isn't a doctor. That part always creeps me out.

Ok! I got it done. Here's what I needed... just in case anyone else is in the same situation.

Remember, I'm a Canadian, I'm re-signing with the same GEPIK public school.

I needed a full health check which was submitted to my school. I didn't take my health check to immigration.

For immigration, I needed 1)my passport 2) my alien card [ARC] 3) money (I needed 80,000 won. 30 for renewal, 50 for making it a multiple entry visa. 4) an original and a copy of my new contract 5) the school's registration (given to me by the school) 6) the school's guarantee (also given to me by the school) 7) a filled out application form indicating that I wanted to extend my sojourn and get a multiple entry visa Cool a passport sized photo.

I took all these to the immigration office. Upon arrival I took a number and then went down a floor to buy the stamps (8 stamps... 10,000 won each).

It's a bit of an ordeal... but luckily I only had to wait ten minutes for them to give me a new passport and update my alien card.

I hope this helps out others.

Oh, at no point did I need a second criminal reference check (Korean or otherwise).

And of course this is all for an E2 visa holder.

Later contract negotiator.
