I guess this is their way of saying "Cut your damn hair" without ME losing face. Yesterday at the chicken party (ain't no party like a chicken party), they were like "You go cut your hair today?" I said no, I don't know where it is. "Okay tomorrow someone take you to cut hair." Ack, my luscious locks. I suppose I'm fine with it, even though my co-teacher said, "No matter what hair, you vely handsome." If they do this, I just wish they would tell me when to dress up FOR FACULTY PICTURES LIKE TODAY when I'm wearing a bulky jacket and long sleeve waffle shirt.

I know what you mean about the picture thing. I got pulled out of class to have my "graduation memory" picture taken... but I look like [Mod Edit] today. I didn't shave, my hair is a mess, and my clothes are kinda blahhh.

My graduation picture was taken while I was walking into school. They had me stand in front of a tree while wearing my heavy coat and my crossbag strapped on. I had no idea what it was for.

Like, totally nah, man. Fight the power, bro.

My hair isn't that long, not even below my ears; most of the kids have longer hair than me. I don't mind, I was planning on it anyway, it is just hilarious they asked. Hopefully I don't come out looking like an adjeosshi (those windsuits look expensive).

Speaking of graduation photos, my first school had a goup photo done with the graduating kindergartens. I had only been in Korea a few months, and didn't know the Korean way of getting a school photo done; that is, no smile whatsoever.

The result was dozens of blank-faced Korean children and staff, with one foreigner (me!) wearing a ridiculously big, toothy smile on my face!

Oh, and to make matters worse, they had taken me out of my class without prior warning. While all the others in the portrait were wearing their "Sunday best", I was wearing a loud, red, oversize (Itaewan knock-off) Roca Wear sweatshirt.

Are they making you cut your hair? Or you just don't care one way or the other?

I have long hair, and I'm a guy. My boss has never requested I cut my hair. But then again, I was hired with long hair, so they can't really say anything!

instead of complaining about not looking nice for the photos, why dont you guys just try and look respectable everyday. i mean washing your hair and a quick shave take all of maybe 10 minutes. its not your schools job to dress you in the morning.

Why would you cut your hair because "someone" says to? Tell them to go [Mod Edit] themselves! You're not a child! And you know I would!

I was dressed nice under my jacket. Many of the teachers at my school wear jeans and adjosshi shirts everyday. But come picture day they are all in suits. Would be nice to have a heads up is all.

Yup. Happens every time. Luckily I generally dress well. Has happened twice now. However, I can be an exponent of the ajjoshi shirt myself at times. I'm a sucker for a 5 dollar shirt sold in a subway under pass or bus station.

I got TOLD to stop dressing and to dress more casually. So most days I don't unless I know I'm going somewhere.
