Someone called us by mistake and found out we are foreigners. Now he won't stop harassing us. He calls and begs us to be his friend in english, then calls back and spouts long monologues in Korean then laughs and hangs up.
How do I stop this? Is there a way to block a phone number or report a harassing caller? |

I had this from a high school kid, I received over 25 calls in half an hour. Most phones have a block number feature in the setting options, however this can be got around, if they block the caller id (which this high school kid did).
To stop it I set up skype to send a mass of text message (around 150), saying stop calling me. Then I sent one more saying next time it will be 500. Got one more text saying sorry and I never heard from him again. Sending texts via skype gots a couple of cents but it was worth it |

I was going to recommend the blocking feature but I didn't know you could get around it so easily. The skype messages are a nice idea^^
You can also try visiting yoiur phone company (take the Korean phone subscriber if there is one) and complain that this guy is harassing you. I was told by a former KTF employee that if someone calls you above a certain number of times within a certain time period and you complain, they will do something about it. I can't verify this though as I have never tried this myself. |

That's not a prank call..that's harassment.
About 2 weeks after I got my phone at 3 am I got a series of phone calls. No idea who it was or what they wanted, they called like 3 times, said something in Korean, I said wrong number, they called back , never heard boo again. |

I had a guy who called me by mistake a few years ago and when he realised I was a foreigner went on a great tirade of foul language.
I kept his number and would call him drunk at 4am and return the compliment. Kinda looked forward to it sometimes. |

After three hours of this and not answering the phone he seems to have given up. There was no caller ID (i don't have caller ID) and I have no idea who it was. As far as I know it was just a wrong number. |

Here's hoping he doesn't think of a payphone once you block his number.
Cheers! |

I had a guy bothering my wife and calling at all hours. I got on the line and told him that I had his number and I could find him.... and you don't want me to find you. Of course, I lowered my voice which is a bit deeper than average and threw in a bit of a bad New York accent. I could practically hear the guy crappin his pants while bowing. Perhaps he has seen too many bad Hollywood movies.
I almost wish that he would call again since I have been working on a really bad Steven Segal impersonation for just these types of situations. |

One time, back when I was living alone, I ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut. The delivery man was a young guy who obviously had a thing for Western women. Shortly after he left, I started getting text messages from him frequently, asking me to go out with him, introduce him to some female Western friends, teach him English, etc. I never thought about it before, but even ordering delivery can be dangerous to foreigners as we are apparently such a novelty and the delivery men automatically have our phone numbers and addresses. I thought about reporting him, but I figured that if he got fired over it, it would only make him angry and he would still know where I lived. The creep eventually gave up after being rejected repeatedly, so I guess I was lucky he didn't take it further. |
