|

I have a BA from the US, but my MA is from Spain, distance learning. I choose it, because the uni I was teaching at in Peru had an agreement with this uni in SPain, and in addition I got a half scholarship.
It had 15 courses, plus a 10,000 word thesis. And it seems that many MAs in TEFL have only 8 or 10 courses. So. . the entire thing was in English, even the thesis.
Although I have a job lined up, eventually I would like to get a job at a uni in Korea. I have four years FT experience teaching at a uni, have been published and presented workshops at various conferences.
Will my foreign degree "count"? I know that some peopel get MAs from Korean universities and those count and help them get a job at a uni.
If I wanted to work at a Korean uni sometime in the future, would I have to do another MA from an English speaking country? |

I wouldn't go that far. Even if they don't accept your MA(spanish) as per pay wise, some universities hire BA who are young, and enthusiastic. e.g. Sogang Uni at the moment is willing to take BAs. |

Thanks for the info, I think one thing that is hindering my chances is the fact that I'm not in Korea at the moment. Is there anyone out there who has a degree from a non.-English speaking country that is working at a uni? |

In K land you're gold baby... unless you have a history with the 'Shining Path'. |
