My school is paying me my housing allowance at the end of the month. I've asked them to pay me at the beginning of the month or at least by pay day, but they won't. I was wondering when your school pays you your housing allowance if they're not providing housing.

Also, they don't want to pay me for my first month(housing allowance), because I didn't start at the beginning of the month. Any idea what I could do?

Can't you just budget your money so that you pay your rent on time? I don't see why it matters when they pay you the housing allowance so long as they pay it by a consistent day every month.

However, for your second question... if they don't pay it the first month then they must pay it the last month. You are owed 12 housing payments. Make sure they will give them to you. Get it in writing.

They will never pay for things that they don't owe you. I would keep quiet about it. I moved in on the 7th or 8th last year in September (a week earlier than noted in my contract, 15th), and I kept asking to stay longer before moving to my new apartment this year. They refused, citing the contract finishing date. So, I got a week extra. Maybe something like this will happen to you, especially if staff changes and they don't know what other people did Laughing
