I ordered a game from them that shipped last Thursday the 12th, but I haven't received it yet. Anyone know how long air shipments from Hong Kong normally take??

If you opted for the free shipping, it may be here on Friday or Monday. My experience has always been slightly over one week from shipping date to my door via the free shipping.

Anything I spend more than $50 on I try to get tracking, which means I paid for fedex. Just ordered a couple days ago, so we'll see how long it takes.

I went with the free shipping. I'll post here when I receive the game.

my purchases ( with free shipping) from Play-Asia consistently take 10-12 days from dispatch to arrival here. Had around 7 deliveries this year.

So I just got the notice from play-asia. They shipped on Friday with Fedex, its scheduled to arrive Monday. Fedex has the package in the system.
I don't know if Saturday is counted as a business day or not, but I noticed it was scanned at 2:30 this morning departing GUANGZHOU I don't know if that is on the plane to Korea or not.
Seems pretty fast to me.

since you use fedex for some of your purchases, do you ever run into probems with customs? do you ever have to pay duties for any of your purchases?

This is my first play-asia shipment with fedex. I'll find out monday. Someone mentioned under 150,000 no duty so i don't imagine it would be.
the only other fedex thing I've had was some documents I needed from canada rather quickly.

In canada I got nailed on UPS when I had a video camera shipped from the US. $28 duty and $50 "brokerage" fee.

Let us know if your fedex package arrives without problems. In the other thread, it was mentioned that all fedex/ups packages get held up at incheon and duties have to be paid.

I've ordered a lot from playasia and the free shipping takes almost 2 full weeks each time. Still better than getting ripped off at the game stores in downtown Daegu though.

A little off topic but has anyone brought a PS3 from playasia? Would you recommend buying the console from them as opposed to domestically? If you went domestic was it costco, homeplus/emart or yongsan? Winter's here and a warm floor and PS3 seems to be the way to go...

I thought Costco only had Wiis. Never seen PS3 there.

I just checked the tracking, and on the fedex site it says:
Nov 23, 2009 8:57 AM Int'l shipment release INCHEON KR

and its still scheduled for delivery today so I think that means it cleared.

just got the package with the New Super Mario bros, no trouble at all. Didn't have to pay any duty. They had an english person call me to make sure I was available to get it and that was that. The guy got a little lost, as I'm on a weird side street, but got it.

What was the total cost of the package? what was the sepearte Item + shipping cost?

Did you have to sign for the package when it arrived?
