I recently made the choice to dedicate myself completely to learning the Korean language, so I'm trying to immerse myself completely. From now on, no more English music!

The ipod I'm looking to trade has 14,000 English songs on it. I'd prefer to make this trade with a Korean aspiring to learn English. (This way the trade would be mutually beneficial for self development).

Anyways, let me know if you or anyone you know is interested.

(I live in Guri, on the eastern border of Seoul).

What kind of IPOD is it? My girlfriend has an IPOD Nano (2nd gen I think) that's loaded with Korean music. She may be willing to trade.

Why not just download Korean music?

This idea sounds retarded.

I'm inclined to agree.......maybe I'm just a little more picky about music, but the chances of a random Korean having an ipod full of music that I'd like, Korean or otherwise, would be pretty slim.

Ask some Koreans who their favorite musicians are, make a list, ask some other Koreans what are the good music download sites, filter out the musicians you like, then start refilling your own ipod with good Korean music.

Check out dosirak or melon--they have some great plans with nearly unlimited access to Korean music for a monthly fee. Some plans you pay for streaming on your computer and a certain number of DRM free downloads to keep, while others let you download what you want to listen to which is drm protected and expires when you stop subscribing. but for 5-10,000/month, that's not bad.
I have dosirak and the monthly fee is just added to my celphone bill. I download 40 songs a month for 7,000 won--including a lot of albums I would have paid $14 for or more in Canada.

Look on BTJunkie. Search for "Bugs 100 Korean." You'll get the top 100 songs in Korea for that particular week.

No, that's fine, man; I'm going to consider all offers and make a decision within a week.

Everyone- PM me with info about your iPod, such as how many Korean songs are on it.

And BTW, I just recently bought the iPod from this board for 200,000 Won (my friend saw it in a store for 400,000). Anyways, I was disappointed when I got it because it had no Korean songs.

To me, time is money, so I really don't care if your iPod is worth less; I just want to learn Korean. Think of how long it would take to download and then upload 14,000 English songs. I'd say this is a great deal for both parties.

I come into central Seoul every weekend if this would be better. Otherwise, I live pretty much on the eastern border of the city limits.

Best,

You sound pretty desperate to learn Korean. Why not just sign up for free language exchange classes? There are lots of them to be found in Seoul.
