I tried again. It says the number is invalid. I don't think it's just me screwing up. I think it just does not accept foreign ID #s at that step.
On a side not, I got my deposit back! |

how'd you get the deposit back?
i'd like to hear from show just exactly why the website lets us PAY for the phone, but not actually complete the process... |

| I put the deposit on my Korean credit card. On the summary page there is a cancel button. Clicked that, confirmed, got an email from INICIS (payment company) saying the order was cancelled. |

| let me guess - you can't just skip the part where it asks you for your foreigner ID again? |

You could just not do it as it's an extra click once you get the summary page. Once you get to the summary page, make sure to write down the order number. You can always go back to the summary page with that order number (ex. 000000123456) and your password you put in at the very beginning. Click 'login' from the main PhoneStore page. You want the button at the bottom right of that popup login window.
Not sure exactly what it was, but my girlfriend said it needed to be done. I spent 3 hours dicking around with this today. Enough was enough.
If KT are going to go as far as to allow us to do it, I agree, why leave one last road block? As it's an extra 'side step', maybe they just forgot and need a phonecall to be reminded and have it corrected. I tried several times, as did the girlfriend but it was constantly busy.

| Not sure about the online registration but I had a friend call a KT store and the rep said that since I have more than 6 months on my contract and plan to stay here 2 years I am good to go. We'll see how it actually works out once I get there though. |

What counts as "data' in the plans? |

I'm in the same boat. When I go to confirm the sign up, it won't take my ID number.
Anyone have any luck contacting the Phonestore.show.co.kr?
Their phone number is 02-1588-0849 |

I'm holding out for first hand confirmation that it will work with my U.S. app store / iTunes account. I've already dropped some change on apps and I'd be pretty irate if I got it out of the box and somehow it simply wouldn't accept my iTunes account from the U.S. on my macbook.
That said, I'm excited to finally see this device over here. |

As it stands now, no foreigners can get it, regardless of visa status. The very last website you go to, to finalize the process only accepts Korean ID numbers. |

I'm going to try faxing them my information (passport, ARC) tomorrow and see if it goes through. |
