I remember a couple of years ago when I changed visas that I actually needed the piece of paper with my visa issuance number on it to take to the Embassy in Osaka. Now, here's my question:
I am currently in Korea, but will be changing visas. My current visa expires December 5th (leaving Korea on that day). I will be submitting my application for a new visa tomorrow (november 24). they say it can take up to, and sometimes exceed, two weeks. If I don't receive my visa issuance number document before I leave Korea (receive it sometime while I am back in the U.S.), will I need the actual paper when I go to the Korean consulate in the U.S., or can I just stroll in and fill out the form, etc. Will I need someone to mail, or possibly fax, it to me while I am back in the U.S.? Anyone gone through this? |

All that comes out of immigration now for your visa is an electronic number that can be sent by email or given to you in a phone call.
All you will have to do is give over this number when you fill in the visa application form and hand over your passport at the Korean embassy - easy !! |
