Looking to go to Eastern Europe or Greece. Any ideas. My wife and I would like to go for about 2-3 weeks. Our budget is 6-7 mil.

Croatia is beautiful, hop on in to Bosnia as well. Mostar is a must see after the old bridge (most) was completely destroyed and recently rebuilt after the war.

Greece (or anywhere else in Balkans/EE) won't be 'warm', unless you're talking comparatively to Korea. Its very damp and rainy during that time, temps in low to mid teens. Crete/Rhodes will be a bit better, but not by much.

If you want warm weather, try north Africa or Middle East. Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Israel/Palestine, Jordan are all great weatherwise.

I went to Italy one February and it was sunny and pleasant while Germany was freezing cold with freezing rain and sleet at the time. You have to head down to the border of Egypt and Sudan border is to get tropical though. Europe is cold like NA and Korea. Anything North of the Alps has utter rubbish weather, but is still fun since they don't just hole up in their homes all Winter like in NA doing nothing. Fo real man.

Europe is still a lot of fun in the freezing cold too, because they walk and walk as they eat their ice cream or, "Ice," as they call it. Yes, they get outdoors on the cobble stone streets in the cold to walk and eat ice cream and huge pretzels as street artists and musicians dazzle the masses. It can be freezing cold December in Frankfurt and the Christmas weihnachten markets are happening with all kinds of lovely classical holiday cheer. It's all story book classic style. I love it. I wish it weren't so gosh darned expensive. Better take a truck load of money or a fat wallet full of plastic componentry to last longer than a day or two. Figure $75 to $100 a day minimum for a budget traveler not sleeping in train stations.

Even most of North Africa isn't warm that time of year. I was in Tunisia in January and it was about 10-15 degrees (Celsius) during the day. Most of Morocco isn't warm either, except maybe the deserts and the southern areas including Marrakesh. Egypt is fine though Smile

Not eastern Europe but you are guaranteed good weather in any of the Canary Islands at that time of the year.

The Mediterranean countries are mild compared to Seoul, but they tend to get a lot of rain in the winter. In Italy and Spain for example its typically about 10 C that time of year, although this can vary a bit based on location. If you are from a cold climate like Canada or the Midwest US originally, you will find Western European winters to be milder, but they are certainly not warm. Eastern Europe is colder than Western Europe in the winter too. Also, the further north you go the less daylight you get - this becomes very noticeable when you are somewhere like Northern Germany, Poland or any other location thats more than 50 N latitude.
