|
|
When i go into a store and ask for some cigs or something else, do I say it in English? Is this annoying to Koreans if I *assume* they know
yong-o?
Speaking of. . . Would it be accptable to say, "Yong-o haseyo?" for "Do you speak english?"
Thanks |

Well, if you're going to ask them if they know English in Korean, wouldn't it be better to just learn the Korean phrases?
give me cigarettes = Tam-bae juseyo. |

Basically if you are buying something you just have to say:
"_______ juseyo" (just look up and memorize the Korean word for whatever it is you want to buy before you go to the store if you can).
If you need more than one, just hold up the number of fingers on your hand.
then pay and say "kamsa hamnida" (thank you)
and that's it.
If you can't manage that, then just point to stuff and speak English. If you don't speak Korean, what's the point of asking them if they speak English? Annoying or not, it's not like you or they have a choice. |

Mention Ohio State here and you'll get a lot of people making fun of you for your uncanny ability to lose big games and make the Big Ten look bad. They've heard of Terrel Pryor and agree that he's overrated. |
