Honestly, beyond the joke, most North Americans I see here are overweight. It actually shocked me quite how obese both Canadians and Americans are, in general. |

Yea thanks to movies, Koreans think white women are all incredibly easy. Too many people think movies are documentaries.
I remember once I was watching RoboCop with my cousins and they were surprised at how violent American is and vowed to never go there. Lol its RoboCop for christs sake. It is not an accurate depiction America, just Detriot. |
LOL! |

Same with Canada.
It's hard for Koreans to fathom just how big those countries are sometimes. |
Second this. My students asked me if America was cold around this time and I drew America and Korea on the map and showed them that in Florida it might be 60-70 degrees and sunny and in Boston it's quite cold. They couldn't believe that not everywhere was the same climate. |

I'm not saying it to be insulting by the way, I just think that those who have lived in America and Canada all their lives, cannot see the wood for the trees. Speaking as a Brit, I and every other Brit I have met who have been here or somewhere else with a lot of North Americans have been astounded by the reality of the obesity problem amongst Americans and Canadians.
This is coming from one of the most obese countries in Europe, although comparatively, we are super waifs compared to you lot, but we are catching up (well our chavs are, anyway.) |

I'm American.
Misconceptions from Koreans:
We all agreed with George W.'s policies.
We gave a rat's ass about Ohno winning at short track.
We're all Christian.
We could never have tried rice before arriving in Korea (the USA is one of the biggest rice exporters in the world).
Pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs were invented in the USA.
Misconceptions from Commonwealth expats in Korea:
We all agreed with George W.'s policies.
We need to be educated by them about what American foreign policy is.
We are all monolingual.
We all own guns.
We don't travel outside the US.
We are all completely unaware of anything outside of the US' borders.
We care about what was invented in their country.
We care about who won the War of 1812.
It is a good idea to interrupt me getting my drink on to discuss any of the above.
It is perfectly acceptable to insult my country when you have just met me. |

This is rather annoying. I've had this happen to me on several occasions. One time I even had an American come up to me and start preaching to me about how I had no idea what America's foreign policy was. I sat there and listened to him for about an hour because I was bored and waiting to play pool. I wanted to tell him that I get this enough from non-Americans, and ask if we couldn't just talk about football or baseball or something. |

Oh yes yes yes. Just because they lost their Empire doesn't mean the manners need to go too. |

I find this funny considering according to Forbes magazine Britain ranks number 32 on the fattest of populations, while Canada ranks 35. So you guys have already surpassed us in your obesity. Then again America is 9th but that sould be no surprise really. |

I had an adjeosshi of stellar character inform me that in western countries not only do people not respect older people but 16 year olds are friends with 60 year olds.
Adjeosshi was older thaan me, so what he said must be accurate. |

Didn't take it as an insult at all.
The fact is, we are HUGE. And I think there is a lot of truth to what you are saying. I used to be overweight and I never really noticed how far I'd gone until I left the country. When you see people your size all the time, it sort of becomes normal, in your mind. |

Hey, no country is perfect. Americans love Big Macs. They make us fat. Meh.
The Brits love to drink. It makes them annoying pricks at bars that try to pick fights with ever bloke that walks through the door. Meh. |
