Visitorq conveniently omitted this part of the news article:
"It's about making sure the authority and the integrity of the CSIRO is maintained," he said.

More misinformation.

A link to the source your quote would be nice. "Threatened" doesn't necessarily mean numbers are declining.
A google search threw up as many declining as increasing stories. |

No, the FACT is that they censored people. This is admitted. All the spin that comes later is just PR damage control. If you wanna base your beliefs on spin, go ahead (just don't expect to be taken seriously). |

Wow, you really don't know how to think for yourself, do you? You avoid the obvious point I was making, then mindlessly google "corruption statistics" and find a blurb that was taken before the current scandal changed everything.
Your government is hard-core corrupt, just like mine is. The CSIRO censors scientists who tell the truth, and forces them to tow the gov't line. Get a clue.

So you have a problem with the CSIRO wanting to maintain its authority and integrity, visitorq? Seems to me, that YOU'RE the one, doing all the 'spinning'.

visitorq, I'm sure 'rusty shackleford' is quite capable of speaking for himself.

| At the most recent meeting of the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group(Copenhagen, 2009), scientists reported that of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears, eight are declining, three are stable, one is increasing, and seven have insufficient data on which to base a decisionthis is a change from five that were declining in 2005, five that were stable, and two that were increasing. During the meeting, delegates renewed their conclusion from previous meetings that the greatest conservation challenge to the polar bear is ecological change in the Arctic related to climate warming. |

We'll start here!! Sorry visitorq, I assume you don't mind me answering for you.
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/health-science/csiro-gagging-climate-debate/story-e6frg8gf-1225794500655
"CSIRO managers are narrowly interpreting the agency's charter to effectively ban scientists from publishing any critique of emissions trading schemes, in a decision that has sparked alarm among the organisation's climate change experts.

I speak for myself. Way to distract from the fact that you quoted a ridiculous source.

Where's the actual data? (a detailed graph showing actual numbers would be nice). Did they decline for 5 years straight? Or just during the last year? How much did they "decline" by overall?
The above quote is basically so vague it's worthless. |

And the reason for the CSIRO gagging?

Hardly evidence of corruption.
And visitorq, when I want your opinion on a subtopic, I'll ask for it.
