Has anyone obtained their criminal background check and apostille in Chicago? I'm trying to figure out where to go to get this done, and am not having much luck. If someone can recommend an agency or location in downtown Chicago, I would appreciate it much.

yeah...you cant use the CPD check down on 23rd and Michigan so dont waste your time and money.

You have to get a state check, you can get it online, its like $15 a copy.

It wont take long though as the requests are processed somewhere in the suburbs (I think Aurora maybe?).

When you recieve your background check...you'll notice that its really just a "screen print" and nothing special at all!

Luckily since you're in Chicago, you can have it notarized and apostled in less than an hour and for no more than $2 a copy!

For the apostille, you can go to the Secretary of State's office at 17 N. State Street. Get there before 3pm and you'll be able to get your documents the same day.

Its only $2 a document!

Remmeber, you'll need to have your documents notarized. If you belong to any major bank in Chicago (Chase, Bank of America, etc.) most will do it for free downtown.

for anyone else in Chi-town, you can get your background check done at 125 S. Clark Street in the Loop. They do livescan digital prints, & send the check almost immediately. Cost=30 bucks, and you'll have it in 1 week.

I will try that location for apostille. 2 bucks, not too shabby. Wow, and this is Chicago, I'm effin amazed.

I'm used to extortion and waiting in an endless line that doesn't move to ask a rude, pissy bureaucrat for help.

just go to authxperts.com thats where i went and they notorized and apostilled two documents for me for $150. got it back in one week!
