He was tied up outdoors, with a dirty red ribbon, under an old man's bird selling business. His fur on his rear was wet, filthy and matted with his own urine and even after cleaning it was stained yellow. He had no vaccinations and as we now know had worms. He was being taunted and kicked at by laughing children. He had no visible food, only a dirt filled water dish.
I did not know the shelter the vet was using had a kill date but as soon as I did I immediately began posting everywhere I could. We have paid to have him dewormed, vaccinated and groomed. We gave him a home that was far better than the one he had.
I also noted that my husband agreed to allow him to stay with us temporarily if I was unable to find him a good home in time, or did you not read that part before you decided to judge me?
As for you VanIslander, why do you continue to post? Does the thought of this poor pup being sent to death amuse you? Or is it my effort to find him a happy home and see him return to health? Perhaps in a twisted way you are trying to help by seeing this thread bumped with each rude and useless comment you make?
I have registered him on Animal Rescue Korea, I have posted on Facebook and here. The vet has posted on a Korean animal rescue site as well. The only shelter in Bucheon she told us about is the city run shelter which is a kill site. If you know of one in this area please let me know. As I stated before I have an 18month old son so it is difficult for me to travel.
Thank you. |

Good luck. He's really cute and I think you've done a good thing. I am sure you don't want the puppy to die. Pay no attention to those who judge you. |

Yeah, I'm not sure what VanIslander's problem is, but I would just ignore him if I were you. |

KK--it is just that it seems to so often happen on this board that posters buy or rescue an animal only to turn around and get rid of it because their husband or child or father-in-law doesn't like it. I don't think it is trollish behaviour to question the actions of such posters. clearly, you have invested your own time and money in the animal but it is a sad thing as VI noted when the "rescuing" of the animal might actually end up in its death.
I personally have seen many animals in sad situations here as we all have, but have never taken it upon myself to take one home because I can't guarantee I would be in this country forever nor would I want to guarantee that I would take it with me when I left, it just seems irresponsible, that is all that some are saying, it is not a personal attack on you.
I hope you find a home for the puppy. |

Could you send me an email at [email protected]
He looks adorable. I have A LOT of experience with dogs and think having a dog here in Korea might be just the ticket to a more homey feeling.
Please email as soon you can!
thanks

Kumara Kitty, you are doing a good thing. I commend you and I wish more people were like you. I certainly hope this puppy finds a good home. As for this Vanislander character, well, just take a look at the "Who has a lousy life" thread in the Off topic forum. It explains heaps about what kind of person he/she is. |

I think it's not bad to comment on why someone rescued the animal...but it's the way that people comment that make them seem like the other person is doing something wrong...without knowing the whole story. That's the only problem. |
