Thoughts from inside?
Seems like we have a pretty good group here. After lunch video prompted some lively discussion: "This video is just a show."
The last guy to comment was like a standup comedian with his routine about the kids putting their heads on the desk. |

I went to the one at the Suwon hotel 2.5 years ago. It was just like being at college all over again for a week :sharing an appt with the funny guy, the nice old guy, the wierdo and the womaniser.
Once is enough though. If you already have a TEFL cert and years of exp it becomes pretty much irrelevant to you. |

Its a nice meet and greet but you'll forget the whole affair within two weeks after leaving.
The only thing I learned from that was that 60% of foreigners were douchebags who never really left their college mentality behind (even though I was one of the youngest there). The other 40% were alright, I met a lot of nice people but unfortunately none of us kept in touch.
One thing I noticed towards the end was how cliquey things like that could be. After the third day everyone had already picked their little social circle and it was impossible to go meeting new people once this had already happened. |

Interesting you mention that, Wav
It was my last day that I became better acquainted with the people that I still keep in touch with now. Unfortunately most of them are leaving so I will have to pray and get back to the next orientation and make new acquaintances |

What do you expect Korea to be? It's like college all over again, cept we get paid to go to school, don't have homework, and don't pay attention in class. (well that's the same I guess) Anyone who stays here beyond enough time to get their bank accounts in the black is dumb.
That said, see you at orientation tomorrow everybody! I've been here over a year now, but am still going. I'll be the hungover college guy in the back trying to sleep. |

So which of you are actually here at this thing? I think the whole thing is a complete waste of time. I would rather be working. |
