I am currently in Korea and will be applying for my new criminal background check soon. However, I need to include a self addressed stamped envelope (United States). Does anyone know where I can obtain US postage stamps in Korea? Preferably in the Seoul area (Ilsan---*crosses fingers*). Thanks

You could buy an international reply coupon. I have never tried in Korea but in theory they should sell them at post offices.

I have had difficulty buying them even in English speaking countries because post office employees don't encounter them that often and generally have to consult a manual then dust off some shelves in the far back corner to find one. You will have to be persistent.

How about mailing it to someone back home and get them to repackage the application in a new envelope with a self-addressed envelope inside and then send it to the police station? That would probably be way easier than trying to find stamps here.

There are always ways around things.

Thanks, that's a good point. I should have thought it through more. I just decided to ask my folks send me some US postage stamps. Easy Smile

That works too. You'll have to make sure you put enough stamps on for delivery to Korea though, otherwise it may never get to you! Or get it delivered to your parents and have them send it to you. I don't know how to check to see what the correct rate would be, perhaps on the US Postal Service website?
