Please make a vow of your belief in me before this priest.

Can someone please tell me how many commas should be in that sentence ... and where they should go.

Thanks.

should? more like: could

Please, make a vow of your belief in me, before this priest.
Please make a vow, of your belief in me, before this priest.
Please, make a vow, of your belief in me, before this priest.
Please make a vow of your belief in me, before this priest.
Please make a vow of your belief, in me, before this priest.

Indeed, we need the CONTEXT OF USE of the sentence.
Sentences don't have full meaning in isolation.

Is this some idle grammar book q&a? or the editing of language in use?

Thanks for the replies. I don't have much context - just the question. Personally, I wasn't going to add any commas to the sentence. Sorry - I guess I should have worded my question as to whether or not the sentence could stand without commas. According to VanIslander's could vs. would note and The Goalie's response - it can.

Thanks.

If you are intending to use this on a test - please don't. There are many possible answers and many possible meanings.

Perhaps the biblical:

Please make a vow of your belief in me, before this, priest.

If it is someone asking an individual to make a vow, to the speaker, and before a third person, the priest, then I would say no commas.

Other interpretations of the context will change that. Embarassed
