Talk about double standard. Men are not the only travellers around, you know? |

no double standard my friend
I endorse and fully support equal eyes for all people (except the blind, to hell with them)

| in general though, the quality of stewardesses have been going down in recent years. just 10 years ago, in korea, stewardesses used to be cream of the crop. back then, if you got married to a stewardess, people would be like, "NICE"... but now anyone can be a stewardess and i fear in another 10 years it'll be like the NOrthwest Air or take your pick of any american airlines where the flight attendants give you attitude and weigh 300 pounds. i was flying northwest once and stretching in my seat and some steward just rammed the lunc cart into my elbow, that was not cool. but yeah, this is a pretty useless post. |

No, I htink it makes perfect sense! Perhaps there could be a rule to hire only young ones and then provide them with optional classes on what opportunities are available elsewhere once they are going to get canned at a certain age. |

Are some of you calling for unfair and unequal hiring practices so that some people have eye candy? Seriously. |

I haven't ever seen a beautiful stewardess anyway. |

| A Singapore Airlines flight attendant was the sexiest woman I've ever seen. |

I love Singapore Airlines, too. The Singapore Girls are, of course, a great part of the flight.
However, I've seen a few male attendants on my flights. I've taken 2 long-haul flights with them on large aircraft (thus lots of attendants). There were a few males each time. They do clean up pretty well; they wear suits and did a fine job. |

How is that possible? |

| in my experience the males have been faster and more businesslike/professional than the females. when you ask for something it's always, "sure, I'll get that for you in just a minute" as opposed to the eye-rolling of the Western harridans or, conversely, the too-sweet-bordering-on-Uriah Heep-ishness of the Korean Air stewardesses. I also think the males spend less time on chatting/small talk amongst each other which is a pet peeve of mine with the females. I don't want them giggling and sharing in-jokes around my elbow, just give me my drink and move on to the back if you want to chat. |

Had no problems getting my beer from the stewards on Korean Air, the stewardesses however turned off my beer mid-flight as they were "concerned about my condition" and cited some mystery Englishman who became too warm for the flu check at Incheon. I had to get the duty manager to get my beer turned back on again
Pathetic. |
