|
|
My itunes got updated. After Itunes updated I plugged in my Ipod. It synced everything up. When I click on my Ipod in Itunes, I see all the songs/movies/podcats/etc... taht is on there.
When I unplug my ipod and try to play them, my ipod says, "There's no content".
Now I gotta restore my Ipod. But guess what? When you restore it, it doesn't automatically put the songs on there. I gotta go through my entire library and manually copy all the songs again.
Here's a big #@%# you Apple and your crap software. |

are you not syncing your entire library to your ipod?
if you're not, then just create a playlist and add all the songs you want on your ipod to the playlist.
then you can just set it to sync that playlist, and voila, you dont have to manually drap and drop hundreds of songs. |

The backups don't backup the multimedia content. It just backs up things like Apps, contact list, etc... |

Ya, I will do the playlist thing. Apple really should come up with a better way to restore. |

Strange. I figured it did because everytime I restore my Ipod Touch, it automatically puts the Apps I had back on the Ipod. Doesn't do it with songs or video. |

| Check out MediaMonkey. I think there's a way to use that for iPods instead of iTunes. |

The issue you mentioned may not necessarily deal with the Ipod.. syncing can be inter related, it can be the ipod that's not accepting the info or something went buggy in itunes. Instead of restoring your ipod trying resetting your sync settings (if using a windows machine)and try again if you go to support.apple.com and search for HT1692 it'll tell you how to do that if you're unsure. The aforementioned article deals with contacts etc but it tells you how to reset your sync history. Restoring takes a while as you know (especially if you're doing an update to the software) and sometimes uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it can be easier I guess you have to pick the lesser of two evils. |
