I've never been there myself, but have met many foreigners who lived there. They all said they like it a lot. Pretty big ex-pat community too, from what I hear.
Downside: You're outside of Seoul. (But not that far.) |

many different areas of Bundang. Some are nicer and easier to get around than others. I personally, I find it to be kind of an armpit of drudgery. Nothing very exciting. A lot of Middle class families slaving away. Some good restaurants but the nightlife is a little lackluster. Traffic is quite congested in most areas, and it is a little more expensive than other Seoul Suburbs.
Some people say Pusan, rather than Busan, and some say Taejon rather than Daejon.
So if that is the case, replace the B with P and D with T, and every guy would like to live there. |

As the other guy said, it depends on where in Bundang. I am quite far out of Seoul (40-60mins by bus to Gangnam, traffic dependent) and really like it - it's quiet, somewhat cleaner than Seoul and has everything I could need nearby.
Not the place if you want nightlife, but there are definitely lots of other expats to be found, if that's your thing. Taking a trip into central is a bit of a trek... but meh
All in all, a pleasant spot. |

It used to be so foreigner free, but now it's like freakin Jangsan in Busan. You can throw a rock out your front window and hit a foreigner in the head. No wholesome Korean experience. Just a bunch of little bars in Samsung Plaza full of whiny foreigners. Things just ain't what they used to be, Ted. |

Careful. Samsung Plaza is Now AK Plaza. But, yes, the atmosphere is as you have described. Bundang caters to the wealthy Koreans and pretentious waygookins who can't handle a more realistic Korean experience.
I lived in Bundang for about six months. It was fine, but I found myself heading into Seoul and other places because Bundang just doesn't offer much in the way of interesting things or exciting things. There is a nice bike/jogging path that follows the Tancheon to the Han River in Seoul. |

Bundang is alright. As others have said, there isn't much of a night life. I'm usually either in Seoul or sitting at home on the weekends. It's pretty quiet (quieter than Seoul) and the subways aren't as packed. |

Me too. Should be moving there between now and the end of Dec. What I have read is that it is the most livable city in Korea. Very modern, new and clean. All the apartments look nice, and most seem to have their own shower. Yes it is all about the little things. lol
Did you find out if you got the job or not? |
