The Koreans have got Argentina (who have been shaky) the Greeks and the Nigerians. The Nigerians size, pace and athleticism will pose problems
- big problems but I do think the South Koreans have got a chance of getting points off Argentina and the Greeks.
North Korea have got Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast - meaning they are set for a double digit thumping over the three qualifying games.
And the Limeys take on the Yanks to kick off group C |

I never was really into soccer most of my life...until I watched a few matches...I tell you what, you have to be in real great shape to keep running all over the field like that! I doubt if even an American football player (NFL) could keep up like them! |

Football/soccer is definetely an aerobic sport but strength and power within a set play is needed in NFL so both sports have different elements that are needed. The biggest soccer player is around 200lbs - they would last 5 seconds on any American football field.
Tell you what though, I think the US side has a good chance of taking points off England. England have rarely performed well in their opening game and the US side plays a similar, physical, fast paced attacking game to England - so thats going to be a good game and it wouldn't suprise me in the least if the Americans took 3 points. |

I actually think a lot of English people that I know aren't taking the group as seriously as they should. The US are a good team. Slovenia, for me, are the dark horses of the tournament - you don't beat Russia over two legs and not be a very good team. For me, Slovenia will be more difficult to beat than the US and I could actually see Slovenia topping the group if other results go their way. Algeria are by no means a great side but they have a few decent players and that could make all the difference. England's group is a lot harder than it actually appears. |

But North Korea is screwed. |

If Korea can play as a cohesive unit I think Argentina are there for the taking. They are still playing Veron at 36 and have an extremely mental Diego(sorry you holiness) as coach. I still dont like to blaspheme against Maradona though. |

N Korea will be the beyotch in their group. It's what they deserve, after advancing when they don't deserve to anyways.
If they can beat Argentine, Korea has a chance at advancing. I doubt they'll beat Nigeria but I think they'll beat Greece. |

Most English commentators and sports journalists are always way over confident, somewhat nonchalant.
When they don't win World cups and European championships, it's treated as almost criminal.
Course us Scots are used to not even qualifying, as the European groups we are in always have a couple of World-class teams, aided by the fact we are crap (but passionate) at our football.
This year I'm supporting SK, but if the Dear One sends some troops past Paju- then of course I will switch support to NK. |

Right now, Argentina look shaky but the world cup is not til next summer. Argentina and Nigeria are worlds ahead of Korea in terms of talent and Greece are ahead as well, just not as much.
I'd be surprised if Korea got more than one point. They have no talent.
I'm supporting Spain in this world cup because they play the beautiful game, the one Team Nike stopped playing in 1986. |

You could say the same about any team in any group. North Korea re dangerous because they'll be an unknown quantity, South Africa will be dangerous because they are at home...there are no San Marino's at the World Cup. However, considering England could have had France or Portugal, I think they are within their rights to be confident. I think another quarter final is on the cards, then after that they'll need a lot of luck which they definitely haven't had in the past... |

I strongly suspect both Koreas will get annihilated, like New Zealand and South Africa will. No prisoners in the World Cup. I think Argentina will be good, if they played Messi on his own he would probably beat South Korea.
If England prepare properly they will destroy America and the rest of their group. Theyll lose against Germany in the quarter finals though, on penalties.
Spain are, for me, comfortably the best team in the world. Torres has to be the best striker in the world, and they have such depth to their squad that injuries wont matter so much. Ivory Caost look threatening, Drogba is a monster on his day but they will probably collapse. Spain all in all. |

I agree with Rusty. Messi is so good it's not even fair. Nigeria is a strong team and Greece is certainly capable of grinding out a point against SK. SK finishes 4th as Argentina and Nigeria advance.
NK doesn't score a single goal. Neither does NZ.
US and England advance comfortably.
Brazil wins it, defeating Germany in the final. Brazil has enough talent to field 4 teams. |

I'm pumped for this group. Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho, C. Ronaldo, Drogba - are you kidding me?
I applied for tickets for all of Brazil's games - I think my life would be complete if I actually got them. |
