What do you think the chances are of the US govt revoking visa exempt status, forcing drug and HIV tests and launching a website to harrass Korean visitors, workers and immigrants? |

I think the chances of this are near 0, as they should be (just because we have to deal with negative actions here, doesn't mean that our home countries should do the same to immigrants and guest workers).
Can you imagine the uproar that would occur if that happened in the US? That would be something to see. It would surely lead to a bunch of arguing (and wailing, and gnashing of teeth) between the Democrats and Republicans to fight over on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. |

It won't happen in the US because unlike Korea, the US really doesn't put the effort into stigmatizing foreign workers as do the Koreans. There are much more important things to focus upon. The only time the US government ever focuses on worker status is when some huge event has taken place that causes people in government to panic. But that's how it is with pretty much everyone and everywhere. |

Racism still exists in USA within the people, but for the most part, the gov't wouild never consider so openly stigmatizing a group like you're suggesting, OP.
But I would laugh if they did. |

you're right, America is one of the few places that requires it, but whereas Korea has just imposed it and is trying to make it stricter, the American restriction will likely soon be lifted. |

It doesn't say much for the integrity of your values, if you change them to retaliate against another group. |

If western democracies were to start hounding and testing immigrants from all countries that don't treat citizens of western democracies with total equity, that would be a lot of hounding and testing. |

And I didn't cry and tantrum like a child when they asked for it. I provided it. Cause it is their house and I was asking to be let in. |

Do any of you know the hoops a Korean had to jump through just to get a tourist visa to the US, up until even a few years ago? 2 years ago at Christmas, my gf at the time had to go through quite a bit more just to come with me to meet my family than I had to do to get a job! I have heard that things are easier now, but I know I didn't have to show bank statements to get MY visa to come here.
Canada was much more lenient, and our plan B was to fly to Canada and have Christmas there -- I wanted my folks to meet her. It didn't come to that, but it might have |

No of course not.
The US prefers to falsely accuse Chinese-American scientists of espionage based on racist notions of "Yellow Peril" or just throw every Japanese-American into a concentration camp for the hell of it. |

The US also had slavery and massacred Native Americans.
The Mongols killed 80 million Chinese in the 13th Century.
