You obviously missed my subtle humor on that one. All of the suggested "derrogetory" names ended in back. This is a reference to a term for Mexican immigrants, and I threw in the extra r to place an emphasis on the reference by alluding to the rolled r. |

I also think this is another throwback of American (you are, aren't you?  ) thinking to fault others instead of taking responsibility for all the cutbacks (American inititated global crisis) that have sent North Americans out here in droves. This may or may not be a setback for yourself in the future, but if it is consider it a payback. Sorry to fireback while you're lamenting the drawback of this current situation, simply trying to give you some feedback about yet another playback/flashback of American economic backlash. Thx, the intent was for a bit of comic relief. The responses to it, save yours, are certainly not unexpected as this thread was created for just this purpose. I'm glad they played along because it enabled me to highjack the thread and turn the tables on the name-calling.  However, it's all but boring, high school theatrics where there will not be any swaying or divergence from the herd mentality. Nuff said on this topic, peace out.

Fine, let me explain this all clearly for you. The double r was a typo. I jokingly said that it was a reference to Spanish speaking people because they have a rolled r sound(arroz, perro). I intentionally spelled derogatory as derrogetory in jest. Why would I misspell it again after having my first mistake pointed out? I am saying you are slow because you took the other poster seriously when they said I am from Belize and believe them to be covering their tracks when you pointed out why I'm clearly not Belizean.
I don't know why you assume I'm republican. I have yet to say anything in support of republican policies. |

Yes, why did you misspell it again? I don't mean the extra 'r', I meant changing the 'a' to 'e'. My first joke was commenting on the extra 'r' in the title of this thread: derrogatory. Then you wrote: derrogetory, which is why I commented on that. Another typo? Your explanation here tells me you're obviously overlooking exactly what's being said, i.e. not fully comprehending the replies.

Obviously, I'm trash talking and heckling oskinny1's response. If this response came after Loudog's NA or SA comment, it would have been as humorous to me as Loudog's, though I would've ridiculed it in much the same vein. I asked Loudog where he thought you (the OP) were from. This evolved in the conversation to accepted English native speakers here in the ROK. So the 'joke' was too late and thus a tad redundant for me. The second sentence: 'CA is part of NA' was in my opinion, pedantic. Hence, I referred back to my original (comedic?) post to ask if he/she thought 'American initiated global crisis' referred to a 'Belizian I.G.C.' Clearly an exaggerated jeer in the same vein to which oskinny1 replied to.
So you're falling victim to that which you accuse, taking it at face value. Reread my previous post to know where I coming from.

When I was in Hongdae late at night, one lanky goofy looking drunk guy was YELLING at my my co-teacher "Saskatchewan Sucks!" My co-teacher asks "Oh yeah, where are you from?" And the guy YELLS "I'm from Edmonton and it rocks!" 
Isn't that kinda arguing over who is the least ugly? I'm from Edmonton btw |

OP - I've got to say I find your post offensive. You want to be funny and cheeky, okay, fine. But why do you have to bring in racial slurs?
Why didn't you look at the etymology of the racist term you are using? First of all, by definition, only those illegal immigrants who cross in Texas can be labeled with that slur. As the Canadians you are referring to came here legally, racist terms for illegals aren't useful. As they didn't swim across, terms about being wet don't apply here either.
Here are a few thoughts for everyone: being funny doesn't require using racist terminology. Just because you aren't affected by, know someone who is affected by, or understand the root of the words doesn't mean they are acceptable to use. Finally, I find using racial slurs unacceptable, but when you use one in the wrong context, that just exudes stupidity. |
