It is up to facility owners and owners of public spaces to accomodate people of the public. Anything else is discriminatory. It is discriminatory to suggest one person make him/herself smaller to be able to fit into a public space.
We solved this discussion last century. |

Would you happen to be 300lb by any chance?
I think its discriminatory to make business owners cater towards people who are outside of an average range.
If my restaurant has a salad bar should I have to have it 2ft off the ground in case a midget comes in? If I have armchairs in my coffee shop do I have to change them for sofas in case a fattie comes in? If I have a pub in an old building with low ceilings should I have to raise the ceilings in case a tall person comes in?
On a related topic, I'm curious about those all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets which are popular in the US. I was in one once about 10 years ago and a MASSIVE guy came in.. probably 350lbs or more. I'd never seen anyone that big before so it was quite exciting/shocking/put me off my dinner. I mentioned to my PC American friend that if I was the owner of this buffet there's no way in hell I'd let that guy in. My rather PC Amercan friend was shocked at my intolerance haha.
Anyway, you've got to wonder, how much cheaper would those all-you-can-eat restaurants be if they banned the 200lb+ crowd? They're cheap enough as it is..
(And yes I know some athletes and others can eat hell loads too, but they are exceptional, not normal.) |

What about Siamese twins though?
Should they buy one or two seats? |
More importantly, would obese Siamese twins need to buy 4 and be forced to sit in the middle without a window seat? |

I guess by per definition they are two different persons.
Two people, two seats.
Unless it's like that South Park episode where the woman has a fetus on the side of her face. |

America buffets have already priced him in - likewise his 350 pounds is well within the skew on that standard deviation curve you mention.
Maybe the Chinese should eat more. |

Yeah.. but if they banned 'him' it'd only be $2 all you can eat for normal people. That'd be nice. They should probably put a trough out back and throw the leftovers in there and charge the fatties .50c for a 30 minute trough session to cut down on waste. |

My favorite Shabu Shabu place used to charge $8 for all you can eat. Then the owner kept raising the price. I asked why, and he mentioned it was because the fat guys that would eat 8-12 plates of meat!
Now that he removed the all you can eat option and each plate is $14, I do not see any fat guys there any more. |

PLEASE let fat people fly on planes. Otherwise the people who take long trips on Greyhound buses or trains will have to deal with it. |

Geshthats a sad picture. I can only imagine how miserable he must feel going through life. Difficult to buy clothes, chairs, beds, difficult driving, difficult having sex, etcOnce you get to that point in your life where you are that big, its my understanding that it is very, very difficult to lose weight. Even a first class seat would be uncomfortable for him. Can you just imagine the tormenting he would be getting if he was teaching in korea! |
Yeah, but MAN! are those double bacon cheeseburgers delicious! There's a tradeoff there somewhere. |
