Very predictable with cheesy lines, but nice special effects. Of course, I didn't go the movie expecting it to be life changing. Take it for what it's worth, I'd say.
Plus, Danny Glover seems to be able to withstand many natural disasters. |

So 802 million people survived. No wonder they weren't crying! |

Disagree. It was the Aztecs & Incas that the Spanish either destroyed or assimilated. I'm no expert on preColumbian history, but recall reading it was possibly the Toltecs & then the Aztecs, that conquered most of what is now Mexico. Just one of 88 theories. Drought & disease are others. The peak Mayan civilisation had already passed long before the Spanish arrived.

| The Maya peoples never disappeared, neither at the time of the Classic period decline nor with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores and the subsequent Spanish colonization of the Americas. Today, the Maya and their descendants form sizable populations throughout the Maya area and maintain a distinctive set of traditions and beliefs that are the result of the merger of pre-Columbian and post-Conquest ideas and cultures. |

But point taken. The Spanish just hastened the end of the Mayas, who were already in decline. Their world ended long ago, although there are surviving pockets of Mayans still living in Mexico today. |
Actually, up until the time that the Spanish arrived, I think that a good argument can be made that the Maya were gradually recovering. |
