I thought we could use a thread where people post their blog type stories, or other stories about what has happened to them. I like reading everyones stories so it would be fun to just open one thread and read about what happened to people that day.

I'll start. I thought this was funny. A third grade student just rushed into my room, looked around and asked me where the real teacher was. I said downstairs in the music room teaching music class and he rushed out.

We all know about the recent trend of calling short men "losers" and tall men "winners." I teach at an all-girls high school and it caught on like wildfire among the students. The problem is that they pronounce "winner" as "wiener." During a class on describing people, one of the girls was describing her ideal boyfriend to the class and when asked about his height kept yelling, "Little wiener! Little wiener!" She was trying to say he is, "a little bit tall."

Actually, the last time that I taught English was at a summer camp. Anyways, one day, I was teaching elementary kids about synonyms and antonyms. Then, at one point, I asked the class if anyone could think of any examples of antonyms. The first student to answer said, "English and Korean".

One day a 5th grade girl suddenly up-chucked during 2nd period. I told her and the splattered party to go and get cleaned up, we cleaned up the mess. When she returned I asked her if she knew what "morning sickness" was. My co-teacher didn't translate THAT one.
