I have been asked to interview prospective middle-school candidates for a foreign language high school in my city. I guess they chose me because I'm probably the only one on EPIK in my city with an MA TEFL, rather than more sensibly choosing a more experienced teacher (I have spent 1 year at a Hogwan, 1 year at my current high school).
The only information I have been given is that I don't have to prepare anything and will be interviewing for the entire afternoon alongside a Korean english teacher.
I have been reviewing all of my ELT books on testing and speaking assessment, just in case.
I'm just wondering, for anyone who has done this before, what can I expect? |

I work in a FLHS that will test on Monday. The teachers who work there will be locked in the school all weekend writing the test (including the two NETs). You will just have to show up, follow directions and rate the kids on a rubric provided. It's not hard. Just listen to what the administrators of the test are looking for--it may not be the same as your ELT books tell you.
Most of the kids will be hella nervous. Some will just give up. They've been testing all day by the time you get there.
Btw, if you were the "only" qualified teacher in your city, you'd be teaching in the FLHS. |

They'll have a ready made set of questions. Just show up, and wear a suit
be clean shaven. |
