Man, Venus Fly traps used to scare me as a kid because I honestly believed that I would meet one that was big enough to eat me someday. I have only seen on in my school and it was dead. Either way, they were still scary to think about.
My other favorite badass animal- The Orca. Don't want to mess with them.

i'm pretty blase about hi-tech gadgets these days
but I always feel the awe of nature
here in korea as much as anywhere: typhoon maemi in 2003, jiri national park when the leaves change color at the waterfall above sanggyesa temple, the creek alongside the path up wolchulsan, the beaches of bogildo, the flowers of the muan peninsula, the cliffs of the northwest of jeju during a rainstorm, the rippled sunset of mountains backdropping the somjin river valley, the swaying of a bamboo forest in the wind, the gigantic millipede that i escorted out of the teaching room and onto the tree outside the window, the pheasant that frequents the small orchard next to my triplex place, i could go on and on |

Nice flytrap video. There are Sundew plants in B.C. This site has a few photos of it, as well as many other stunning shots.

Some of my whale watching friends put up this site. Some excellent stills of whales, birds and pinnipeds.

Last year, Mark went to Antarctica. He showed me some of the photos this summer. Some beautiful shots. They don't seem to be up right now though. |
